Read my competitors' web sites or brochures --- They brag about "2 to 3 hour inspections" or "400 + Item Inspection Findings" or "Report delivered on-site at end of inspection."One local company sticks its chest out over its "38 page inspection checklist."

Except for inspecting a few 1000 - 1200 sqare foot homes, I've never been on-site for an inspection for less than 3 hours. I typically spend at least 4 hours on-site during the inspection, then I return to my office to write and compile the inspection report and digital photos (another 2-4 hours).

The 2-3 hour inspection / report on site inspectors are doing everything (inspection, analysis, report writing, photo enhancement, etc.) in 3 hours or less! How thorough can they be? Are they leaving something out? Are they forgetting something? If they can check "hundreds of items" under these circumstances (while talking to you during the inspection) in that little amount of time, how much time are they spending on each item?

Some of these guys are doing 3 - 4 inspections a day!

These folks cannot be doing the same quality job I do. They might be more efficient than me, but not that much more efficient. Corners are being cut somewhere in these inspections.

I average spending 4 hours on-site per inspection. I don't check my watch (I don't wear one) during the inspection. I don't have to. I don't have another inspection scheduled later that day. Your inspection is the only one scheduled for that day. The inspection takes as long as it takes.

I take the time necessary to find the problems with the structure. I take the time when I get back to my office to write the report in a manner that you can understand, describing what the problems with the house and lot are, and what might be be done about them.

I take the time to get it right, because that's what you're paying me to do. You are paying me a day's wage to inspect your house. Don't you think you should get a day's work?
